Consideration should be given to escalating traffic. With Big Box stores looking for space, they are increasingly spreading out shopping options. Westmount used to service the 21 or so high rise apartments, but that convenience no longer exists for the area. Maybe we are beyond being able to do anything about 'convenient' pockets of shopping around London, and particularly in the downtown core. Even the Westmount library necessitates a car trip.
Keep the city clean: It seems that there is not enough garbage bins available so that people don't litter. What about (as in Vancouver) a metallic circle attached to a post with a garbage bag? Inexpensive and very efficient to keep our streets clean. Downtown grocery store needed: A grocery store is needed desperately in the downtown core area, especially if attracting young couples and older citizens. This will definitely be the push needed to make living in London Downtown attractive and appealing to the people. Artwork: Why can't electrical born/Canada post station be offered to Fanshawe/Beale art students as a platform to create. They could be painted by individual students. People could vote for their favourite. Not ony will it provide some much needed appeal to these necessary "metal closets" in the streets, it also allows for some young artist to get noticed and gain experience in urban work environment.
Stop involuntarily irradiating the people of London with microwave radio frequency. Start monitoring the electro-magnetic pollution from all sources in the City of London. Currently there is no data or anyone doing EMF assessment, neither from the City of London or the Ministry of Health or the Ministry of Industry. It’s a human right to have clean water, clean air, and an electro-magnetically clean environment for the protection of its citizens, the bees/insects, and all living life. Radio frequency/microwave radiation is known to weaken building structures, such as water towers, pipelines, and metal structures of buildings. RF/microwave radiation is known to have serious health effects including cancer, reproductive systems, DNA abnormalities; this has far reaching implications for implications for the future.
